Fostering Healthy Futures (FHF) is currently accepting referrals for preteen and teen programs. This free, evidence-based positive youth development program is designed to empower preteens and teens who have current or previous child welfare involvement to build a brighter future.
FHF uses mentorship and skills training to support young people in fostering their own healthy futures. We understand the unique challenges these youth face, and our 30-week program provides a supportive environment for them to grow and thrive. All transportation is provided for participants, removing a potential barrier for families.
Fostering Healthy Futures for Preteens and Teens
The FHF for Preteens program is for children ages 9 to 11. Participants engage in one-on-one community-based mentoring and weekly prosocial skills groups with their peers. To be eligible, a child must have current or previous involvement with child welfare, live within 35 minutes of the group site, and be able to commit to the 30-week program.
The FHF for Teens program is for youth in 8th or 9th grade. This program also includes one-on-one community-based mentoring, and teens can attend six different prosocial skill-building workshops with their peers. Eligible teens must have current or previous involvement with child welfare, live within 35 minutes of the workshop site, and be able to commit to the 30-week program.
Both the preteen and teen programs are being offered in the Denver Metro area. If you know a preteen or teen who could benefit from this program, or if you’d like more information, please reach out to [email protected]. Let’s work together to foster healthy futures for these young people.
