Internships - DU Interns

Inquiries regarding Kempe positions available for 1st year students in DU’s Master’s in International Disaster Psychology Trauma and Global Mental Health Program (MAIDP) are beginning to roll in. Students are expected to begin their practicums ASAP (2024-2025) ideally to begin in the fall (i.e., now).

MAIDP students will complete a total of 260 hours during their first year – (10-15 hrs/year). Supervision requirements are 1 hr supervision per 10 hrs of service. Because the hour requirements are < 300, these are not eligible for the stipend.  There are four types of sites. Click here for the MAID practicum placement manual.

Clinical practicum sites require supervision by a licensed mental health professional (Master’s or Doctoral). Non-clinical practicum sites require a supervisor possessing a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a social science or human services practicum – or serve as expert in the content area of the work being completed by the practicum student. We have supported several of these students in the past with positive experiences.

If you are interested in opening a position for a 1st year practicum student, contact Terri at [email protected]. Additionally, Terri asks that you complete a program template so DU can add to their program descriptions. Click here for the one TRIP provided last year. TRIP has received a couple of inquiries because they have their program posted with DU.
